Danish designer Enzo Janssens has made $20 million of custom bamboo furniture for his restaurant, which opened in January.
Janssen says the furniture he created in the style of the 1920s is a nod to his childhood home in the Czech Republic, where he spent time in an orphanage.
Janssen says his goal was to create a home that “was really comfortable for me,” which he attributes to the quality of the wood, the way it’s woven and the design of the wooden frame.
The tableware is the latest in a long line of custom pieces from Jansens.
Last year, he made $8.5 million of bamboo table ware, including a chair for his wedding, a table for his mother, and a dining table for two.
